Enrique Ponce was announced to be in Jaén at 4:30 p.m. and Cordoba at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday March 25th, 2006. He managed to be on both festivals to help fight cancer. Enrique has been the organizer of the festival in Jaén for a number of years. His colleagues could not perform on March 26th and asked him if he could possibly change the date to Saturday and he did because he thought the festival in Cordoba was at 6 p.m. Rather than cancel one of them and create disappointment, Enrique accomplished being in both by asking his colleagues to allow him to go first in Jaén. After he cut 2 ears and took a vuelta around the ring, Ponce changed and went to Cordoba where he was received with open arms since people knew the dilema.

If you watched the televised corrida from Castellón did you notice how Julian held his right wrist after he put the sword? He did the same in Mexico City on February 5th when he hit bone.....I 'm wondering whether or not he is fully recovered from his wrist injury back in January which occurred in a tienta at Victorino Martin's Ganaderia.

NUEVO REGLAMENTO is being implemented in Andalucía this season. The size of pics will change. They will be smaller. What was used for novillos will be used for full grown toros and for novillos will be smaller. Also, third class plazas can have indultos now.
Niño Torero, 9 yrs. old Rafita Mirabal, attracted more people to Silverio Perez plaza during la feria de Texcoco than when Enrique Ponce performed at the same arena according to Canal Once Announcers, Julio Tellez & José Mata. There are mixed thoughts on allowing children to perform at the plazas. On the positive part, children went to see the new Mexican sensation. Little Rafita was on the ground 3 times. Doing a farol he was late pulling the cape over his head and the vaquilla ran over him. Fortunately he was not seriously injured.
